Following completion of Yale University’s Sculpture Building, Boston-based
construction firm expands operations

BOSTON, April 2, 2008 /PRNewswire/ — Shawmut Design and Construction

today announced it has opened operations in New Haven, CT. The opening
continues Shawmut’s strong growth at the national level and highlights the
momentum the company is experiencing in New England, where it has in recent

including New York City, Providence, R.I., Atlantic City, N.J., Las Vegas,

construction of Yale University’s Sculpture Building project in New Haven.
This challenging project consisted of the ground-up construction of the
55,000 square foot Sculpture Building, 3,000 square foot Gallery, and
134,000 square foot parking garage, with the project earning LEED(R)
Platinum certification for its environmentally friendly construction and
design. In 2008, Shawmut will begin additional work on the Yale campus and
continue to provide a high-level of service and quality for the University
from the New Haven office. Upcoming projects include the Greenberg
Conference Center breaking ground in the spring, which will serve as a
permanent and professional venue for internationally focused programs.
